Sitting on one of Roland Park’s premiere streets, this stately Georgian Revival home had begun to fade.

Our client’s purchased the property with the intent to reinvigorate the once grand residence and create the ideal home for their family. In the original, mostly untouched first floor of the home, small changes were made to promote modern living.

On the second floor, the primary suite was reconfigured to create a generous bath and walk-in closet. Exterior doorways that had been filled-in were reactivated, allowing access to a restored second-level balcony overlooking the neighborhood.

On the rear of the home, where multiple renovations had stripped the historic fabric away, bigger design moves were made to maximize functionality. The 1990’s tiled kitchen and leaky side porches were demolished.

The rebuild included an expanded kitchen, bar, butler’s pantry, pool bath, and mudroom. The once dark kitchen now boasts a 12′ panoramic door and counter height windows that allow light to flood in. The third floor which once held wartime rental apartments, was reimagined as a gathering space for the family’s children and their friends.
